Help Me Please
Wed Jul 30, 2008 at 12:53:18 PM PDT
I posted that video of John McCain and all his qualities on my personal blog and I got a response that if I answer well we may turn another undecided into a decided.
Posted under the fold.
I'd like to get a variety of answers and then respond with the strongest ones I think would work with this guy.
Hey, he's on the fence!!!!
Importance of the Supreme Ages
Sun Jun 29, 2008 at 07:34:53 AM PDT
I'm not sure if anyone else has gone out to the Supreme Court's website and tallied the actual ages of our current Supreme Court Judges.
There is obviously something very, very unnerving going on - and that is almost all of the Justices have been appointed by Republicans, except 2, Breyer and Ginsburg.
More over the flip.....
Wright, Robertson & Fallwell
Thu Apr 03, 2008 at 06:41:08 AM PDT
With all of the attention being placed on Reverend Wrights comments, which were taken out of context in the first place and do have some meaning if one is to listen to them in full (though I do have a problem with churches that mix religion and politics) have we forgotten the insane comments made by Republican Loyalists Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell, you know, the "Agents of Intolerance."
Why, oh why are people so concerned about Rev. Wright's comments and their effect on Obama's campaign but very little attention is brought to the public and private comments made by just these two religious whack jobs?
Not So Fast - California Republicans at it Again
Sun Nov 04, 2007 at 07:19:21 AM PDT
Well, I hope this catches the eye of many of you out there. Seems the Republican Californians want to resurrect their attempts at changing California's Electorial system.
While it would be fair if it was across the country, it is not fair when it is just one state.

IraqSlogger going to Subscription Only
Sat Aug 25, 2007 at 09:28:36 AM PDT
I am not sure how many people here go and read IraqSlogger (http://www.iraqslogger.com/) but I am a daily reader. They do a really good job at analyzing the news that not only comes out of Iraq but also our American Media.
CNN Int'l and Comcast
Sun May 20, 2007 at 06:35:07 AM PDT
I live in the greater Houston area where we have been served by Time Warner cable for years.
Comcast bought out Time Warner and the changes that affect their customers has gone into affect.
On what was channel 234 I enjoyed CNN International. On May 15th the entire station was gone and there is now NO station assigned to channel 234.
In my research, Comcast is somehow connected to Rupert Murdochs' mis-information machine.
Interesting Info-Athiests & Agnostics
Sat Dec 30, 2006 at 07:16:52 AM PDT
I was reading another DailyKos diary entry which led me off to a list of famous "Athiests, Agnostics and Ambiguous" people.
http://www.celebatheists.com/...
Anyhow, while reviewing the names I see the two men who give away more than anybody else in the WORLD (I think, and I know the two are in America) and guess what.....?
My TX-22 Voting Trip
Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 08:28:39 AM PDT
Yesterday, I drove me and my handicap equipped van to my local early polling location. After an horendous time trying to park my van in a place where I can roll my electric wheelchair out, I rolled on in.
First, this particular polling place ALWAYS has signs pointing to it for two weeks during "early voting" that say in big bright letters, "VOTE HERE" with an error pointing to the place. This time, those little signs were missing, that is, until you drove close enough to the building itself.
Hum.
Path back to ABC's 9/11 Docu-Drama
Mon Sep 04, 2006 at 03:03:41 PM PDT
I'm going through my DVR (ie TIVO) recordings for the coming week and found these tidbits interesting regarding this "Dramatization of Events" on 9/11.
I know there was a "call to action" diary earlier, which many of us followed through with.
Below the fold I'll explain more (and quickly)
Bush Approval Ratings over 40%
Tue Aug 22, 2006 at 06:40:39 AM PDT
I personally believe that we need to take notice of something very important, especially this close to the November elections.
Bush's approval numbers are rising and the last two, CNN and USA Today both have him at 42%. That's his base plus a few more.

Tom DeLay (Texas 22)
Wed Aug 09, 2006 at 08:37:59 AM PDT
I live in the Delightful, Unrepresented District of Texas, a/k/a TX-22.
I have been on Tom's e-mail list and was quite appalled at the one he sent out yesterday (I know, I'm late checking my e-mail).
Follow me below the fold for his e-mail and a few of my notes in bold.
Edward R. Murrow Awards
Mon Jun 26, 2006 at 03:52:44 PM PDT
I just read that the Edward R. Murrow awards have been handed out and they are:
http://www.broadcastingcable.com/...
NBC Tops Murrows
By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 6/22/2006 9:15:00 AM
NBC took home six Radio-Television News Directors Awards for "excellence in electronic journalism," including the overall excellence award, while CBS TV, the home of Edward R. Murrow, came away emptyhanded from the awards named after that iconic newsman (though CBS Radio, also Murrow's digs, won four awards).
Several Gulf Coast TV stations, including WWL and WLOX, won awards for their continuing coverage of Hurricane Katrina. In fact, storm stories swept the continuing coverage categories.
Other network TV winners were cable's CNN and ESPN with two apiece, as well as ABC and Univision with one apiece.
Marijuana and Lung/Throat Cancer
Thu May 25, 2006 at 06:28:24 AM PDT
http://news.google.com/...
I am a Medical Marijuana advocate in Texas, working to relax these absolutely insane laws regarding marijuana. In fact, I went just last week to talk to Representative John Culberson (Texas' 7th District) office. I have four family members living in his District so I went on their behalf. I personally live in Tom DeLay's district and well, we currently are a district without Representation!!!!
Having MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and early-osteo-arthritis, I would like to see laws changed as my condition changes too. I have more than just one friend who uses it to help ease their conditions.
Anyhow, I guess they can't say that it causes lung cancer anymore!!!! Um, 22,000 joints in a lifetime is like, a LOT!!!!!!!
The PNAC
Thu May 11, 2006 at 08:59:36 AM PDT
I am assuming that most of the people on this board are already aware of the "Project for a New American Century or PNAC" and their principal of creating a meaner, leaner military with the help of civilian businesses (i.e. Halliburton or its subsidiaries doing KP duty instead of military personnel (hell it costs us a lot more).
http://www.newamericancentury.org/
Anyhow, it has been awhile since I mozied on over to their website and I read their letter to Congress from Janurary, 2005 - requesting that Congress increase the size of the military (at this time I believe the military is still having a hard time filling its current levels).
Subtly, you can read that these people would like Congress to institute some kind of a Draft, per se, without actually identifying so.
Favoribility Ratings (Dems vs. Reps)
Wed May 10, 2006 at 07:26:18 AM PDT
Interesting Stats: (CBS/NYT poll 05/04/06 to 05/08/06)
http://www.pollingreport.com/...
Democrats:
55% = Favorable
37% = Unfovorable
http://www.pollingreport.com/...
Republicans:
37% = Favorable
57% = Unfavorable
Almost a complete "opposite" affect here.
People are also turning off FOX (I guess there are a few out there who get their news from other resources and have finally figured out that FOX doesn't give the complete picture AND adds too many opinionated adjectives to their shows).
Tom DeLay (Texas 22)
Wed Mar 08, 2006 at 12:35:14 PM PDT
This is a quick note before I leave for a doctors' appointment. I live in Tom DeLight's District and personally, I could not be happier that he won the Republican Primary.
Why?
Because, his District used to be a super safe Republican one, but with his re-districting, he diluted the vote with more Democrats - but ensured he still has enough Republicans to keep his job.
Okay, had he lost the Republican Primary, then the guy who was challenging him was probably going to win, being Republican and all in a fairly heavily Republican leaning District.
Instead, we now will have a 3-way (oooh, that sounds kinky), anyhow, we will have 2 Republicans running, one as an Independent, diluting DeLay's votes. Nick Lampson could easily carry almost 50% of the District with the Republican votes being divided up between DeLay and the Independent.
Funny, I've had people calling me today to ask me how we can get rid of Tom DeLay!!!! And luckily I say, "We just may now that he's won the Republican Primary."
All we need is that Republican running as an Independent and he's History!!!!
But Lampson still needs a nice war chest!!!!!

Did Cheney have his own Monica at the Ranch?
Wed Feb 15, 2006 at 12:17:23 PM PDT
Huffington Post has a recent headline about....
And according to Willeford's account, Cheney and the ambassador were side-by-side when the shooting of Whittington took place.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...
I just wonder how much truth this really might be. Having worked in political law offices, mistresses are all around (sadly) and yes, people just look the other way instead of reporting sightings to say, Lynne Cheney.
Rethugs will succeed in having this rumor?/truth? buried.
