I want my country back.
I mean the way it was before 20 Jan 01.
When newspapers weren't just echo chambers for the Executive branch. Before up till then respected reporters weren't paid by that Executive branch to report lies and half truths, and the printed word wasmostly the truth.

Before the President of the United States of America was something more than a front man for the biggest corporations in the world.

Before every member of the Republican party thought the same thought at the same time, and had no dissenting voice anywhere.

We are witnessing the next great framed debate in this century.
The first was how to go to war with any nation you want, even though they haven't done any thing.

Of all the arrogant, grandstanding, narcissistic, assholes that Bush has allowed to strut across the world stage, Dick Cheney is by far the most offensive.
Allow my rant.......

The South Dakota Senate must now be contemplating just how they are going to enforce the new Anti Abortion legislation.
I would suggest monthly testing of all child bearing aged girls / women.
If a 'client' is found to be impregnated during the last 28 days, she will be handed over to the states Dept of Health for mandatory counseling to ensure she is submissively compliant with the new law.
If she is, she should be allowed to go home and report for voluntary follow-up testing each month. This will ensure that the child will be brought to full term.
If she is found to be not a true believer in the law..... Well,.....

I said it yesterday, I'll say it again today, and I'll say it again tomorrow.
This port-gate, Dubai-gate, Bush-gate, is about so much more than what the discussion of it is.
The Assets of AMERICA are going away to the highest bidder everyday.
It's not just Bush, Presidents before have done similar thing.
But the amount of insider deals by this Administration is all too obvious.
They are running them through so fast that the upper staff and actual Secretary's that are bound by law to oversee these "transaction" don't even know they're happening.
A cadre of busy subordinates are taking deals given to them by their superiors and processing them into legal "transactions". Does anyone know how many millions of acres, billions of board feet, or trillions of ounces have been traded away without a thought as to the ramifications to American Industry, or the American consumer?
Hopefully we may get an answer soon.
The very soveriegnty of America is at stake.

I'm watching the Senate oversight committee chaired by Warner. The panel is handpicked talkers from the Bush club for growth.
They are framing the discussion along a narrow view of security.
I for one, believe it is much larger than that.
What about the fact that a foriegn country, any country can have so much control over any aspect of AMERICA.
The outrage heard regarding the portgate' crap is about everything, not just one thing.
The autonomy of AMERICA is at stake. It has been for years, but particlarly in the rein of George the great. The continual assault on everything AMERICAN is a non stop, continual assault on the autonomy of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
That is at the crux of this debate, certainly not just the security of our ports.
The panelists are predicably focusing on their talking point orders given to them be this WH.
Will any Senator ask the real question,
What the hell is George thinking ??

I just saw a press conference given by the Leagur of Conservation.
What a fantastic organization they are.
They have just come out with their annual "report Cards" for Congress.
Being from the great quaile hunting state, where our Representatives or Senators can't get elected unless they are seen roping a calf or shooting a bird, I wondered what their scores might be.
A quick inspection of the web sight showed me why Texans are suffering from bronchitis, asthma and cancer at numbers that surely make Republicans proud. (true conservatives are not todays republicans).
Even the Democrats have scores in the 30's and 40 % range.
Almost every Republican, which as we all know are all but a few of our Representatives, scored 0. That's ZERO with a 0 !!
It's good to know we're in such compassionate hands.
