Texas Precint 447 -- I am a county delegate!

Tue Mar 04, 2008 at 08:26:04 PM PDT

Thanks Everyone!

***update*** they will not make us go outside. good news!

Everyone,

I am at Odom Elementary in Austin Texas, Precinct 447. Over 400 people were here at 7:30 for the caucus. There are still over 150 people waiting to sign, an untold number of people have left already, I am not sure who has left out of frustration, but it has to be scores.

They are talking about closing the school at 11:00 and kicking everyone out. At that point we may just move the caucus outside.

Please understand that we have not yet finished signing, and the caucus has yet to begin.

Also, someone here has the Hillary headquarters on the line and who knows what they are talking about. I would imagine some of what is going on here will be used against Texas when the Hillary team decides to contest the Texas election laws.

UPDATE!!!!

FINALLY! 2 FUCKING SHEETS at a time. Both campaigns are going to oversee to make sure t stays fair.

People, we are gonna be outta here shortly!

It's GOtv Time!!

Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 10:40:48 AM PDT

Everyone,

We have less than two weeks to go. It's time to start making the calls, walking the beat, and talking to the street. Let's do this together. We got one vote each to make it happen, and one election day to make a change. What we have in numbers are phone calls to make, and people to talk to.

So what can you do?

I have identified three places to start:

1.    Call for Change:
2.    Work your local campaign
3.    Help keep the polling places legit

Foreclosure Survival Guide - A Personal Tale

Tue Oct 03, 2006 at 10:44:28 AM PDT

At 9AM this morning I lost my home to foreclosure. It was auctioned off at the Travis County courthouse at the "Rear Sallyport entrance". I did not attend the auction. I  came to work and went about my morning as I always do. My wife and kids were at the house getting the last items out before the Sheriff came to change the locks and kick us out.

I am spending a couple of weeks in limbo while I wait for my apartment to be ready. I have worked out a place to stay, all of my belongings sit in two storage rooms. We are living out of suitcases and eating off of paper plates. I call it "inside camping". I think we are weathering it well, but it is still a trying situation nonetheless.

However, this is not a story about me, but a guide for the rest of you.

The Foreclosure Survival Guide follows after the fold...

In this past the wilderness of earth contains a magical quality that is slowly being destroyed by an industrialized society. The animals in this magical realm are all enraged by the encroachment of humankind and thier exploitation of the natural resources. The humans on the other hand, are seeking to create weapons and inflict thier domainance over all things.

WIND BREAKING! I Floated One In DC This Morning!

Fri May 26, 2006 at 11:40:31 AM PDT

First let me just get this off my chest:

It was me. I Farted in DC the senate offices this morning. I'm sorry.

I had some broccoli and beer last night with a fried egg sandwich. I normally wouldn't eat that for dinner, but I got home late and was in a hurry, and that was all I had in the fridge. I knew at 4 this morning I was gonna have a hard day when my stomach started rumbling, but I too tired to get up and take care of business...

Our Kairos Moment

Wed May 17, 2006 at 04:59:45 AM PDT

In 1985, a group of anonymous reverends and pastors wrote The Kairos Document as a challenge to Christianity in the face of Apartheid.

The 1985 document can be read here:

http://www.sahistory.org.za/...

In Christianity, a Kairos Moment is a time for God's will to be acted upon. In a purer sense of the word, it can be summed up to mean "strike when the time is right"

It is my belief that America is soon approaching a "Kairos Moment", a moment for us to act upon the greater will forces  and exact a change for the greater good.

Some excerpts from the KD Document after the fold.

The Stunning March In Dallas:

Full article:

http://www.nytimes.com/...

DALLAS, April 9 -- Hundreds of thousands of people, many waving American flags, marched through downtown Dallas today to protest tougher immigration restrictions proposed in Congress and to support legalizing undocumented workers.

The Tally:

The estimates were anywhere from 20,000 to 200,000, but all of a sudden they started coming, and they kept coming and kept coming. We estimate that we have 350,000 to 500,000 people down here today."

Tom Delay is an Embarrassment

Wed Apr 05, 2006 at 07:58:27 AM PDT

Tom Delay is gone.

Please use this diary to recollect everything you ever hated about Tom so we can build a great seething diary of muck to go back to whenever we want to remember just what a cheeky bastard this guy really is...

This also serves to help us cleanse ourselves of the emotional wretchedness that Tom Delay has inspired in us all.

I have waited three years for this day. Now we must begin to find closure.

I'll Start

The Golden Engine

Wed Mar 08, 2006 at 02:20:04 AM PDT

Another golden age of humanity has begun the long and slow descent into another dark age. Humanity tries as best she can to get us all together in one big momentous push to make something, I cannot know for sure what it is, happen. By looking back 2 thousand years to the last great epoch of humanity, the Greek and Roman empires, I can begin to get an inkling of just what it is that the collective will of humanity is trying to do with each and every one of us that dares rise above the rim of the drunken glass of ego and peer off into a limitless distance. Each and every one of us who with a long and concerned stare realize how utterly small, fragile, insignificant and supremely special our little blue planet is, teeming with life and striving for some upward continuation. As to what that inkling is, it will take me a while to get around to explaining it, as a lot has happened in those 2 thousand years, and the few billion years preceding. Before I go there, I need to get some more basic stuff out of the way first.

:: Dallas Area Kossacks :: The Open Door Project

Thu Jan 12, 2006 at 07:28:33 AM PDT

This just came from my best friend. His mother is organizing this, and I encourage all Dallas Area kossacks to attend.

The Open Door Project is a method by which
participants guide others to freedom of thought.
Within this method, all ideas that lead to
philosophical dialogue include understanding and
appreciation of others' ideas. We make intelligent
decisions based on that knowledge.

Election Year Microbrews?

Fri Dec 23, 2005 at 05:52:07 AM PDT

Ok, so I just had this idea about five minutes ago so sue me if it runs afoul of several election advertising laws.

Here's the thought:

Working with local microbreweries across the US that are sympathetic to the Democratic party, develop regional brews that are labeled with facts and stories about the Democratic candidates running for office in thier local area.

They Have Stolen Our Country And Left Us To Die

Tue Sep 06, 2005 at 11:05:26 AM PDT

They Have Stolen Our Country And Left Us To Die

Shadowy backrooms backslaps handshakes withering smiles

Informed lips slip conformed lies

Fears grow faster than kudzu vines

Refugees (thieves?) drown at the breadlines

"Tomorrow help's a comin!"

And tomorrow comes and goes

And yesterday was the fourth day that tomorrow never rose.

RISE UP!

Your country has been stolen and you have been left to die!

While backroom handshakes seal the deal

The other hand rifles through the till

Mock sorrow escapes their lips, with breath musty and rank

While hundred-dollar bills are carted from the bank

The public trust is empty

And promises are made

But tomorrow never comes

Returned to sender,

never paid.

I Destroyed America by Fighting Spam

Wed Aug 03, 2005 at 10:07:55 PM PDT

Sliding down the waterfall of diaries,

A useless solution goes unnoticed and rejected

Voices barely rise above the din

And we have reached critical mess

In hindsight, after all that is left of America

After the left left thier posts behind and let Democracy fail,

We will realize that the Anti-Spammers, those Anti-Americans, THOSE HEATHEN POLITE MOTHERFUCKERS!

Are the ones to blame for our demise

OPT-IN Text Message Campaining

Wed Aug 03, 2005 at 09:43:17 PM PDT

I will not threaten to blow my brains out or complain, instead, I offer you a solution. This is what a Democracy is all about right, people coming together and forging a compromise?

What I propose is building an Opt-In text message network that provides free phones and Active Sync/Blackberry services.

Much like Kos makes money to run this site using ads, we can build a messaging platform that is paid for by campaign money during the next two major election cycles.

Text Messaging as Manuever Warfare?

Mon Aug 01, 2005 at 12:48:27 PM PDT

Ok, so the whole spam thing got a little outta hand, over in Paul's thread, but it got me thinking. What we need is a massive opt-in real-time messaging system. I was thinking about how a recent revolution was partly fueled by text messaging and it dawned on me. We need to use Dodgeball.

Dodgeball is a text messaging platform that is based on using your phone to check in with the dodgeball network. Dodgeball then redirects text messages to friends in your network (kinda like a friendster or myspace network) and lets them know where you are or what you are up to.

Here is what I propose:

Iraqi PM Demands Troop Withdrawal

Wed Jul 27, 2005 at 01:30:20 PM PDT

Complete story here

WASHINGTON -- The struggle against the Iraq insurgency passed a crucial tipping point Wednesday with the current prime minister calling for major U.S. troop withdrawals and the U.S. ground commander there acknowledging they will probably come next year

Remember when Edwards said during the debates that we need to refocus our attention to training Iraqi security forces?

Well check out what the PM said:
