McCain Quote Hands Obama Landslide Win

Tue Aug 19, 2008 at 08:59:22 PM PDT

This is John McCain, in his own words, in his book "Worth the Fighting For."  Keith Olbermann showed the audio version with McCain speaking last night.

"I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to become president. I was sixty-two years old when I made the decision, and I thought it was my one shot at the prize."

The Spiritually Empty + Immoral Driven Life (Parts 1+2)

Tue Aug 19, 2008 at 04:49:06 AM PDT

This diary, my longest ever here, is parts one and two of six which I offer a point by point rebuke of the radicalism, fundamentalism, intolerance, craziness, and decrepitness that I’ve found in Rick Warren’s book, "The Purpose Driven Life."  Warren's book is filled with oversimplifications, falsehoods, disjointed ramblings, cut and paste usage of selective bible quotes with conclusory logic on par with the below average first grader, and occasional sagacity which regrettably exists within the confines of the false homilectic rubrics established by Warren.

Warren’s book is divided in 6 sections, today I critique through page 60.
Do not be fooled by Warren.  He's an Elmer Gantry, a fraud, a Judas who hides behind the name of Jesus and a world class liar as shown by his behavior Saturday night regarding Questionsgate, ConeosilenceGate, and his pandering to his buddy John whom Warren has fully supported for months now.  If you have any doubts about the real Rick Warren, his appearance yesterday with you know who confirms that Warren was trying to do a hatchet job on Obama.

Hannity WILL Be Monitored At DNC Convention

Mon Aug 18, 2008 at 04:17:44 AM PDT

Right wing extremist and Fox News Kook Sean Hannity has made it clear that he is planning to harass DNC delegates and have staff videotape delegates looking for outrageous comments (perhaps from his paid staffers).  But we're not going to let him get away with harassing delegates who are there for a convention, not Sean Hannity's bullyboy tactics.

Two attendees to the DNC Convention, both with access to the convention floor WILL be watching and monitoring every move Hannity makes on the convention floor with active cameras.  The only exception will be during bathroom breaks.  We need more people to rotate shifts to watch John McCain's chief surrogate and Jerome Corsi promoter Sean Hannity.  We want the cameras on every member of his so called security as well at all times.  IF you have video of Hannity or his security thugs harassing delegates, forward your videos or photos to us.

Conservatives Always Support Affirmative Action and Quotas

Sat Aug 16, 2008 at 09:25:40 PM PDT

Conservatives have always supported affirmative actions and quotas.

They believe that lesser able, lesser qualified individuals who are part of their ideology should get perks and positions that better able, better qualified individuals have earned.

They do not believe in competition, they believe in a rigged caste system.

Here are some permutations below.

Your 2008 Fantasy Football Preview Guide

Fri Aug 15, 2008 at 09:11:52 PM PDT

Given that I would prefer seeing progressives and liberals win their fantasy football leagues over any of the conservatives in the league, let me provide you with tips and rankings for success.

First, my track record is as follows.

  1.  In a 12 team league for 15 years I have been the regular season champ 6 times, have 1 Super Bowl, 5 runnerups, and 6 conference championship losses.  Snakebitten but successful, I've made the playoffs 12 of 15 times in a league where only 4 of 12 teams make the playoffs.  Only once did I have a losing record.  The odds of doing this randomly are small.
  1.  In my other football league, it's 12 teams, 6 make the playoffs.  I've been in it 5 years, won it twice, was the runner up once, and lost in the semis the other two times.  5 years, 5 playoffs, 5 winning records.  In 1 other league for 1 year, I won the division only to lose in the playoffs. So in 21 seasons, I've been under 500 once.  I'm doing something right.

Video Smacks Down Faux News Smears

Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 09:04:02 PM PDT

A picture is worth a thousand words.  This Video, "The Fox is Wrong" is simply the best.

In this case, the nearly four minute YouTube video produced by Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films should be played on every major network.  If it is okay with Robert, I'd love to see him buy time on all four networks and CNN and play this video.  I know I'd donate.

DNC Should Strip Hannity + Rove Press Passes For Convention

Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 05:05:57 AM PDT

On the 3 hour hatefest for Insanitized minions, Sean Hannity and Karl Rove have made it clear that they intend to go to the Democratic Convention and harass delegates.  They do not intend to go there in a journalistic capacity but plan to start fights on the convention floor, bring a so called security entourage with them to intimidate others, harass delegates, and basically cause trouble.  Therefore, the DNC should take their press passes and not let them onto the site.  The same might be suggested for Bill O'Reilly.  These people are not journalists, they are right wing smear merchants without an ounce of integrity in them.

The DNC is the host of the convention.  They rent the property.  They can decide who comes in and who doesn't.  There are no civil right issues here.

Remember, Hannity is Afraid to Debate Me

Wed Aug 13, 2008 at 04:32:28 AM PDT

Over the past few weeks, John McCain's chief surrogate Sean Handy Hannity has been relentlessly, unfairly, and untruthfully attacking Barack Obama daily and has extended his smears to Michelle.  Yet John McCain continues to embrace this wingnut who caters to vile bigots like Ann Coulter, Jesse Lee Peterson, and Jerome Corsi.

Last week, in Berea, Ohio, Obama called Hannity out and suggested that a 68 year old man named Mr. Burgess would tear him up in a debate.  So Hannity put the man on his show for 15 minutes and Mr. Burgess, nice as he was, was unprepared for the litany of smears.

Hannity demands that Obama debate him for 3 hours.  By bringing up Hannity, Obama either astutely realizes the DFQ theory that making Hannity the face of conservatism leads to permanent Democratic majorities or Obama made a tactical error by suggesting that someone else debate Hannity.

Regardless, Hannity does not get this talking point.

The 30 Second Ad Obama Should Run Now

Mon Aug 11, 2008 at 09:24:26 PM PDT

This is simply an expansion of a well received comment I made in response to McNasty's dishonest and sour mooded ad that McNasty is running during the Olympics.

My positive Obama ad would be a winner.  It would take about an hour for the Obama production team to create it.  Then they should air it toward the end of the Olympics.  It will be a knockout.

Is it Senator Kent Conrad From North Dakota?

Sun Aug 10, 2008 at 09:05:01 PM PDT

I just love the speculation game so I decided to embark on a fun project. Given that the corporate media is usually wrong, I decided I was going to search for Obama's VP nominee.  First I had to act as if I have an IQ over 160.  Second, I wanted a name that nobody in the mainstream media has seriously mentioned.  Third, I wanted someone who made sense from a strategically and politically point of view not from the standpoint of who DFQ prefers.

That means I was looking for someone older than 46 but younger than 72, preferably right around age 60.  I was looking for someone from a swing state or Bush voting state in 2004 that's been elected multiple times, someone with a long record of accomplishment, someone who has a few votes different from the Democratic base but not enough to irritate the base, someone forceful enough to speak out on issues but low key enough not to overshadow Obama, and someone who has truly bipartisan accomplishments.

And I found Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota.

127 Republicans Behaving Badly

Sun Aug 10, 2008 at 07:02:20 AM PDT

Okay, if Republicans are going to attack Democrats over sex, then the gloves come off.  There are 127 notorious Republicans on this list.

More than 100 of these Republicans have been involved in scandals involving children while the rest are involved in some sex scandal that was either quite deviant, scummy, or hypocritical.  A list of Democrats of a similar nature would not even take up all your toes and fingers.

Come Forward Ye Adulterers and Cheaters

Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 09:26:42 PM PDT

Given that most married Americans have cheated on their spouses, the chances are that most married people who read this diary will also have cheated on their spouses.  If you've criticized others merely for the act of adultery, please identify yourself to the public.  I also want every windbag in the media to admit or deny whether they are or have been adulterers.

If two consenting adults agree to have sex, even if one is married, this activity should be legal.  Adultery should never be a criminal act.

In civil legal terms, adultery can be viewed as a breach of contract in which the aggrieved party may have certain legal redresses.  It should be a factor in determining child custody issues and perhaps the equitable distribution of marital property should the aggrieved party seek divorce.

It is that simple.

Best One Liner of The Entire Campaign (UPDATE)

Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 04:58:18 AM PDT

Credit goes to Howard Dean but here is the best one liner of the entire campaign.

The John McCain of 2000 Wouldn't Even Consider Voting For the John McCain of 2008.

Obama should repeat it often, as too should all his surrogates.

Know The Obama Smears AND How To Debunk Them

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 05:01:56 AM PDT

It keeps happening and it happened yesterday.  If people are going to call in radio shows or act as surrogates for Obama, then please DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

Rare exceptions aside, today's conservatives are regurgitators of talking points, bullies with microphones, and intellectual lightweights.  You KNOW what they are going to say.  Being unprepared is unacceptable.  Let me provide the basics.

Handy Hannity Phony Background Narrative

Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 09:08:59 PM PDT

Sean Hannity, the elitist Republican snob just like Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh, pretends to promote an image of his upbringing that is quite different from reality.  The phony narrative goes like this.

Sean Hannity grew up dirt poor, couldn't afford anything, dropped out of college 3 times because he had no money.  Hannity claims he was a Dean's list student earning almost all As who left NYU after a socialist professor gave him a C because he spoke out in favor of Ronald Reagan after Hannity was getting As the entire time throughout the class.  Hannity claims that he had to scrape by painting houses in Rhode Island and could barely afford a $200 car. He claims he worked construction in Santa Barbara where he was fired from a radio station because of a witchhunt against conservatives by a station with a zero tolerance policy for conservatives.

His narrative is designed to pretend that he is somehow in touch with ordinary people when he's nothing more than a prima donna Republican snob who once insisted on flying in a first class private jet just to give a speech at a college.  Hannity's narrative mixes in small grains of truth with a lot of balderdash.  Here's the real background.

Is McCain Using Angry Arab Mob Noise for "Obama" Chants?

Mon Aug 04, 2008 at 09:03:28 PM PDT

When I first heard the angry sounding "Obama" chants in one of McCain's ads, I knew I heard that sound before but couldn't quite place it.  Then I knew it came from a movie but didn't remember the name.  Now I do.

Rules of Engagement was a blockbuster movie in 2000 starring Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel Jackson.  It's been called the most anti-Arab movie ever but this diary isn't about the merits and dismerits of that argument.

It's about one scene, very early in the movie where an angry Arab mob of Yemeni citizens are incessantly chanting hate slogans while the rescue of the US ambassador is taking place.  The audio sound is meant to rile up audience members.  From a theatrical standpoint, it's very well done.  The chant's cadence is distinct in its volume and repetition.  I hadn't heard before until recently, in John McCain's ads.  It seems to me that someone in the McCain camp simply substituted the Arabic chants for the chant of "Oh Ba Ma, Oh Ba Ma, Oh Ba Ma" and retained the exact same background noise.

Turn John McCain Into A GOP Parody

Mon Aug 04, 2008 at 04:53:45 AM PDT

This is too easy.

A Joke
FerragamosMcCain
8 Homes McCain
Flip Flop Flip Flop
Hannitized Off The Deep End
Clueless
Needs Joe Lieberman To Babysit Him
Incompetent
Laughable Campaign Ads
Vladimir Putin of Germany
Czechoslovakia
The Iraq/Pakistan Border
Shia, Sunni, Huh?
McCain campaign says McCain doesn't speak for McCain.
McSame
McNasty
Bush Third Term
Angry
Losing It

Could the GOP have nominated a worser candidate?  John McCain is a parody.  He's given us the material.  Let's use it.

98% of Americans Don't Listen To Sean Hannity

Sat Aug 02, 2008 at 09:56:56 PM PDT

I'll use Handy Hannity as the example although this diary could easily include Limbaugh (at least 97%) or O'Reilly (99%) but here is the bottom line:

98% of Americans do not listen to John McCain's chief surrogate Sean Hannity.  If they did, then why would Handy Hannity's favorite candidate Rudy Giuliani get only 1 delegate after spending 30 million dollars?  Or why would Mitt Romney not prevail on Super Tuesday after Limbaugh AND Hannity urged their listeners to come out for Romney?  This is a Republican primary and even in Republican primaries, most REPUBLICANS don't listen to Limbaugh or Hannity.

You hear the numbers.  We have 13 million listeners, 20 million listeners, blah blah blah.  NO THEY DON'T.
